Are you a skilled cost accountant with a strong background in the manufacturing industry? We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our team.
About the Role
Based at our Wetherill Park, Sydney facility, the Management Accountant role reports to the Financial Controller and is responsible for developing and maintaining MASPRO’s standard costing system.
The role involves regular reviews of manufacturing efficiencies and variances, updating standard costs as required, and supporting various financial and inventory management functions.
The position demands a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work closely with management to optimise costs and improve operational efficiencies.
Main duties include but are not limited to
- Drives impactful change within the organisation, by contributing to profitability, efficiency, and sustainability initiatives
- Involvement in production optimisation projects that contribute to MASPRO’s goals and growth strategies
- Developing and maintaining standard costs of manufactured inventory items and provided services using full absorption cost methodology
- Analysing manufacturing operations and resultant variances, and equipment availability and utilisation
- Working closely with management to determine opportunities to maximise profit and minimise waste e.g. scenario analysis
- Analysing the cost/financial impacts of potential improvements in product and process efficiencies (e.g. make vs buy decisions)
- Analysing, monitoring & reporting on cost-optimisation projects
- Assisting with preparing monthly management accounts, with a particular focus on inventory reporting
- Managing company inventory counts
- Assist the Financial Controller and support the Inventory Manager with any other various day-to-day issues or projects
- Occasional travel to our Head Office in Condobolin to collaborate with our Production and Supply Chain teams
About You

Essential

- Proficiency in cost accounting software and ERP systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
Desirable
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CMA, or equivalent) preferred

Based at our Wetherill Park, Sydney facility, the Payroll Officer reports to the Financial Controller and is responsible for contributing to and supporting our ever-growing team here at MASPRO. You will collaborate with the Finance and Human Resources teams to process weekly salaries and wages accurately and efficiently while promoting a positive and helpful work culture.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll for approx. 120+ employees on a weekly pay cycle accurately and timely
- Ensure compliance with the Fair Work Act and other relevant legislation affecting payroll
- Manage PAYG tax obligations, ensuring compliance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements
- Prepare and submit superannuation payments in accordance with Australian Superannuation Guarantee requirements
- Remit payroll taxes to the government, ensure compliance with tax and employment laws
- Balance all payroll ledger accounts, including the posting of all payroll related journals
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly end-of-year payroll activities, including PAYG payment summaries and Single Touch Payroll (STP) finalisation
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
- Calculate and process employee leave entitlements, including annual leave, personal leave, long service leave and deductions
- Reconcile payroll-related General Ledger accounts and prepare payroll reports as required
- Prepare and distribute employee pay slips and manage payroll queries promptly
- Stay updated on changes to awards, agreements, and payroll-related legislation
- Liaise with Human Resources and Finance Departments to ensure alignment of payroll processes
- Other duties as required by the Financial Controller
