About the Role
The Financial Controller is essential for providing accurate and timely management reports and will lead a small team, reporting directly to the CEO. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, facilitating a productive relationship with the CEO, and will be adept at offering actionable insights from financial data, not just reporting it.
In our manufacturing environment, cost accounting is vital for tracking production costs, valuing inventory, and analysing variances. The Financial Controller will incorporate these insights into financial management and planning, aiding in budgeting, pricing decisions, and performance measurement. Collaboration with colleagues at all levels and locations is crucial to ensure accurate reporting, effective cost control, and strategic decision-making.
More specifically, you will:
- Manage the delivery of month end within the reporting cadence and prepare management reports.
- Management of team across all aspects of transactional finance activities including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General ledger and Payroll.
- Ensure monthly reconciliations are performed as required to ensure accuracy and compliance with high quality accounting and regulatory standards
- Funding Requirements, Working Capital and 13-week Cashflow management and reporting.
- Compliance with all statutory requirements including taxation obligations.
- Apply managerial accounting techniques including cost accounting and allocation methods, establish such as activity-based costing and standard costing, to accurately track and allocate production costs. Manage Cost of Goods Manufactured and Cost of Goods Schedules.
- Establish and drive robust internal processes and controls to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data. Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with policies and mitigate financial risks.
- Proactively collaborate cross functionally to raise the understanding and awareness of finance metrics and the levers to drive improvement including expense management.
- Coordinate the budget/forecast process, preparation of analysis and reports to guide strategic planning. Manage against budget.
About You
The successful candidate needs to demonstrate the following experience, competencies and skills:
- Qualifications commensurate with role requirements: Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics.
- Five or more years of experience in a finance role in an intensive manufacturing organisation.

Are you a skilled cost accountant with a strong background in the manufacturing industry? We have an exciting opportunity for a Cost/Management Accountant to join our team.
About the Role
Based at our Wetherill Park facility, the Cost Accountant’s role is to report to the Financial Controller, and is responsible for developing and maintaining MASPRO’s standard costing, including regular reviewing of manufacturing efficiencies and variances and subsequent updates to the standard costs as required.
Main duties include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and maintaining standard costs of manufactured inventory items and provided services using cost recording and documentation
- Analysing manufacturing operations and resultant variances, and equipment availability and utilisation
- Working closely with management to determine opportunities to maximise profit and minimise waste e.g. scenario analysis
- Analysing the cost/financial impacts of potential improvements in product and process efficiencies (e.g. make vs buy decisions)
- Analysing, monitoring & reporting on cost-optimisation projects
- Assisting with preparing monthly management accounts, with a particular focus on inventory reporting including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
- Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of COGS for financial statements
- Managing company inventory counts

About You
